The Santa Fe airport is the most convenient. However, it’s a small airport using smallish planes, and they have been known to cancel flights. Depending on when you arrive, there may or may not be transportation unless you have reserved a car.
The Albuquerque airport is about 55 miles to the south of Santa Fe. It’s a much bigger airport and the one I generally use. You can rent a car, and there is also a shuttle service.

If you Google Santa Fe Shuttle, there are some other options I am not familiar with.

Santa Fe's award-winning culinary scene is a food lover's paradise. Put cuisine on the itinerary and plot your tasty dining adventure with a few advance restaurant reservations.
Innovative Southwestern fare created by award-winning chefs and hearty New Mexico dishes such as breakfast burritos and green chile stew are reason enough for Santa Fe to have earned a prominent place on the world's culinary map.
Here are some of the more reasonably priced downtown hotels:
It is a 4-star hotel with a good location.
This historic hotel is always fun. Rooms vary from small and dark to light and elegant. It has a decent restaurant and a lively bar. It's right in the thick of things.
This locally owned hotel offers free parking and free breakfast. It also has a restaurant and bar that the locals frequent. I often stayed here as a tourist.
It’s a little more upscale than many Drury Inns. It has many rooms and a good rooftop pool and bar.
This is another one of my favorites. Many rooms have balconies, and they are available. It has the best pool in Santa Fe and the best alfresco dining.
Please click the hotel name to reach its website of it, for more information and reservation.
These are just a few of the downtown hotels. Of course, you can Google it to see others.
All of the hotels downtown have a variety of rooms in different sizes and prices.

If you stay at one of the downtown hotels, you won't need a car. Many restaurants, shops, and galleries are within walking distance. I live nearby and would happily pick up and drop off anyone at a downtown hotel. You will need a car if you stay farther out at a motel or B&B.
They have some nice casitas to rent. https://www.casasdesantafe.com
I can recommend restaurants and great sightseeing ideas, from museums to outdoor activities.
